Q: How long will it take to complete the online RN-BSN program?
A: It depends on how many of the 120 required credit hours can be transferred or granted toward your BSN degree. A minimum of 45 credit hours must be earned through online RN-BSN courses from Anna Maria College, and that should take about two-and-a-half years to complete if you average three credit hours per 8-week term. For a detailed course listing, check out the RN-BSN course description page.
Q: I already have a bachelor's (or associate's) degree. How many credits can I transfer?
A: Up to 75 credits can be transferred from a qualifying degree. Our advisors will review your transcripts to make sure you get the most possible credit. No matter how many credits are transferred, however, 45 credit hours must be earned from Anna Maria College to receive your BSN degree.
Q: I've been a working, registered nurse for years. Do I get any credit for that?
A: A minimum of 30 transfer credits will be granted to students who are Registered Nurses. Non-traditional credit (up to 6 credit hours) may be granted for CLEP (College Level Examination Program) or professional certification in a specialty practice area.
Q: Do I need to be licensed in Anna Maria College's home state to earn my BSN degree?
A: No. AMC accepts candidates with nursing licenses from all 50 states. Because no clinical component is required to earn the BSN from Anna Maria College, it is not necessary to become licensed in our home state of Massachusetts.
